Dotique Opens Third Store on Witney’s High Street: A Great Addition to Witney’s Community

September 11, 2024

On Thursday the 5th of September, the vibrant Dotique independent boutique had its opening day. Opening their third store in the prime location of 36b High Street Witney. This new store is a step away from their other two stores located in Chesterfield and Rowsley, marking a significant expansion for the brand. “We are so excited to announce the opening of our third Dotique store in the gorgeous town of Witney," explains Dorothy Robinson, founder of Dotique.

From the moment I walked into the boutique this bright and airy space felt immediately welcoming. It was hard not to miss the infectious smile across owner Dorothy's and her daughter Sophie's faces, immediately welcoming you into the curated space. With bubbles at the ready to celebrate the opening, customers were guided around the boutique and introduced to the stores brand offerings. As Dorothy explains “customer service is our number one priority,” where “we want people to come in and try and we love making people happy that’s what we do. We will never send somebody out in something that doesn’t suit them, making people feel great and making people smile.” It is clear that Dorothy loves what she does and has a passion for making women feel confident.

Dotique boasts a curated selection of high-quality wardrobe staples from Red Button to the exotic flair of Place du Soleil. As you make your way around the store each section is organised by size, colour and outfit, making it easy to pick the perfect look. At an overview the saturated pinks and blues caught the eye lined up along the rails with touches of white and beige between. With prices varying, Dorothy explains there is “something for everyone” and “we are constantly evolving and changing, reacting to what people are wanting.” Dotique is the place to pop into as you stroll along the high street, Sophie will be heading the store, ready to style and talk through the look for you. This was highlighted by the first in-store sale I witnessed as two ladies found their favourite piece to walk away with.

An innovative feature of the new Dotique store is its partnership with dress rental ‘One Hit Wonders’, owned by Sophie herself. This collaboration will allow customers to book appointments to explore and try on the selection of rental dresses in-store. With the store itself boasting casual wear, key pieces and day dresses this is the perfect opportunity to rent those evening wear pieces that would typically only be worn for one special occasion. As we discussed, this is a thoughtful step in the direction of a circular economy.

There are exciting plans for the Dotique store, with the arrival of new accessories, orders for Spring/Summer 25’ being placed by Dorothy and Sophie. To the development of a styling space upstairs and looking to host events and shopping evenings, explaining “we want to be part of the Witney community.” It is clear the new store will become a hub for the brand. Dotique is well on its way to becoming a community hotspot with this avid mother, daughter duo at its helm.

Autumn is officially here, as we say goodbye to sunny days and lighter evenings we look to the month ahead. Heading back to the hustle and bustle of daily life and work routines. Not forgetting this season is also filled with crispy maple-coloured leaves, cashmere jumpers all captured with a chill in the air and a hot chocolate in hand. Yet, as any fashion disciple knows this month in the fashion calendar is equally as electric as it is hectic.

When I think of boho chic one person comes to mind, Sienna Miller who donned this free-spirited style back in 2005, and has now become known as the face of its renaissance. Yet, this boho style is back with Chloe’s recent fall 2024 runway show setting the standard, which many have followed. Daisy Edgar Jones is cementing her place as the new ‘IT’ girl perfectly perfecting each look with this fluid style on her recent Twister press tour, with sought after hairstylist Bryce Scarlett at her side. Alongside recent Vogue cover girl, Suki Waterhouse bringing back the bare faced makeup look with her iconic ode to the 60s hairstyle to match. This spirited yet neutral style couldn’t come at a better time for August’s festival season. This month we look forward to welcoming entrepreneur and business mentor Darya Simanovich to feature in the next of our Female Founder Story series. Simanovich, has experience not only owning one business at a time, but many and we look forward to hearing her experience as a serial entrepreneur this August.
