From the moment I walked into the boutique this bright and airy space felt immediately welcoming. It was hard not to miss the infectious smile across owner Dorothy's and her daughter Sophie's faces, immediately welcoming you into the curated space. With bubbles at the ready to celebrate the opening, customers were guided around the boutique and introduced to the stores brand offerings. As Dorothy explains “customer service is our number one priority,” where “we want people to come in and try and we love making people happy that’s what we do. We will never send somebody out in something that doesn’t suit them, making people feel great and making people smile.” It is clear that Dorothy loves what she does and has a passion for making women feel confident.
Dotique boasts a curated selection of high-quality wardrobe staples from Red Button to the exotic flair of Place du Soleil. As you make your way around the store each section is organised by size, colour and outfit, making it easy to pick the perfect look. At an overview the saturated pinks and blues caught the eye lined up along the rails with touches of white and beige between. With prices varying, Dorothy explains there is “something for everyone” and “we are constantly evolving and changing, reacting to what people are wanting.” Dotique is the place to pop into as you stroll along the high street, Sophie will be heading the store, ready to style and talk through the look for you. This was highlighted by the first in-store sale I witnessed as two ladies found their favourite piece to walk away with.
An innovative feature of the new Dotique store is its partnership with dress rental ‘One Hit Wonders’, owned by Sophie herself. This collaboration will allow customers to book appointments to explore and try on the selection of rental dresses in-store. With the store itself boasting casual wear, key pieces and day dresses this is the perfect opportunity to rent those evening wear pieces that would typically only be worn for one special occasion. As we discussed, this is a thoughtful step in the direction of a circular economy.
There are exciting plans for the Dotique store, with the arrival of new accessories, orders for Spring/Summer 25’ being placed by Dorothy and Sophie. To the development of a styling space upstairs and looking to host events and shopping evenings, explaining “we want to be part of the Witney community.” It is clear the new store will become a hub for the brand. Dotique is well on its way to becoming a community hotspot with this avid mother, daughter duo at its helm.
