Introducing Anna Richey, the mastermind behind Two Chicks, a business that’s revolutionising the way we enjoy eggs. Two Chicks brings convenient egg white to the market, filling a gap that Anna herself noticed years ago, launching the first liquid egg white product in the UK. Joined by co-founder, Alla Ouvarova, Two Chicks has become the go-to brand for those seeking a hassle-free, nutritious option.
In our discussion, Anna shares her journey into the egg industry starting unexpectedly during her time in Los Angeles in 2005. Surprised by the popularity of liquid egg whites for healthier omelettes, she realised the absence of such products back home in the UK. Determined to change that, Anna, alongside business partner, Alla, set out to create a solution for themselves and others who craved convenience without sacrificing nutrition. Throughout her career, Anna has experienced remarkable moments, but one that stands out for her is winning the Entrepreneurial Spirit Award at the Variety Catherine Awards.
I am Anna and my business is Two Chicks. Two Chicks brings innovative, convenient, egg based products to market that we wanted ourselves but couldn’t find. We launched the first liquid egg white into retail in the UK and are the leading brand here.
While I was living in Los Angeles for a short time back in 2005, I was struck by the popularity of liquid egg whites to make fat and cholesterol free, lower calorie omelettes as an alternative to cooking with whole eggs. On my return to the UK I wanted egg whites for breakfast, but didn’t want the hassle and wastage of separating eggs. It seemed ludicrous that we didn’t have such a product on the market. Numerous magazine articles, along with celebrities and sports stars, were recommending egg white omelettes to stay in shape, yet there was no way to simply make them.
Winning the Entrepreneurial Spirit Award at the Variety Catherine Awards, set up to recognise and celebrate women in business.
Very boring and conservative with a lot of black and beige! I like classic, sophisticated designs and would love a stylist, as I have no interest or skill in putting outfits together!
This is the first time I am thinking about it. I would say that I like to present a smart, polished image, so yes, to an extent it does.
