Niamh's Note - JUNE
I am thrilled to announce my new ‘Niamh’s Note’ editor’s note which will be published at the start of every month, and we begin with June. Beginning each month in this new edit I discuss everything NOWLAN and what to expect for the rest of the month alongside, trends and thoughts for the month ahead.
This month I say goodbye to the Jimmy Choo Academy after three years and also London, for now, I am officially on my own in the world ready to take NOWLAN to the next level. Like many others after three years of intense working I will be taking a well-deserved break… but don’t worry not from NOWLAN. I will be leaving London for a few months to visit family and friends I haven’t been able to see over the past few years. This time has really shown me that some friends are for life and some for a season. I have those in my life right now, and those childhood long term friend connections. Those long-term friendships are sacred, as even though we may all be in different areas of the country, we still make the effort to talk to each other and when we have time we make the effort to see each other.
What a month to start with, this June we look to launching NOWLAN’s debut collection on the 20th of June at the Jimmy Choo Academy graduate fashion show. Models, photographers, MUA and hair alongside a whole tribe of people are briefed and getting ready. I look forward to sharing the debut collection with the world after months of designing, development, fabric sourcing and endless hours in the atelier. Moreover, at the end of May we had a very exciting photoshoot for the debut collection and this month we will be sharing all, taking you behind the scenes. Believe me you don’t want to miss this post as these photographs engulf everything and more about the collection – empowering, attention and 70s rock and roll.

This month we also introduce two more incredible female founders in our ‘Female Founder Story’ series. After the success of last months story focusing on Alla Ouvarova, co-founder and CEO of Two Chicks and the Future Female Entrepreneur initiative we now hear from the other chick, Anna Richey. Anna discusses her unusual entrepreneurial idea and how she views her own fashion and its impact in business. We will also hear from another empowering female founder at the end of the month so, make sure you’re following NOWLAN on Instagram @nowlanlondon so you don’t miss a thing. If you are looking for a little bit of motivation or advice make sure you read our fortnightly female founder stories from successful female founders across different industries.

On the note of the blog, we welcome an exciting article collaboration on the blog this month. We talk all things female empowerment in fashion and take a look back in history. I can’t wait to share our first blog collaboration with you dear readers, it promises to be a special one!
With all of this to come I can’t possibly sit still so get ready with lots to come from NOWLAN this month of June.
-Niamh Nowlan, Principle Designer for NOWLAN
